Hey guys,

I started practicing OH a little bit this week, and got 2 sub 30 averages (pretty good, since my record was 31.xx, dating from a year back). I guess with practice I can get better..

One of the hardest things for me is actually the cross.. The f2l is mostly RU combinations, but with the cross, this is not the case. Do any of you have any tips for that? Do some of you solve the cross on top? Or on the right or bottom? Solving on the bottom seems harder than solving it on top, somehow. anyway, I am interested in how you do it.

Excellent post... this is what I have been wondering too. My cross ends up being around 4-5 seconds, while my F2L is around 20 seconds. I could shave up 10% of my time just by fixing my cross.

BTW, congrats Joël on your avg.

well you are already pwning me (i did get a 35.xx avg today tho) and I have been practicing my OH pretty much since I could solve the cube...
I don't really know what I do with the cross either... I try to solve it on the bottom but it really depends on the case. the cross always has horrible cube rotations and is just not nice. I would say solve it which ever way is best for that individual scramble.

For cross I pretty much do whatever seems to be the best, though I try to use the R and U faces as much as possible.

Then for F2L I just do regular cross on left algs pretty much.

Yes, "OH-Cross solving" can be summed up by "Finding the solution with the least cube rotations".

Besides "practice, practice, practice", that's the only major tip I can give for the cross.
