When you have nothing better to do on a Saturday evening that also happens to be pi day. One digit per move, except for the second move (which is "point").

(nb: recording this successfully took so many tries that it's already the 15th here, but let's pretend I'm in America or something)

Note: this reconstruction does not include all the cube rotations done in the solve, because that would make the whole thing about a million times longer.

were the pauses to remember the digits or was it to pause to look for pieces

Mostly the latter. I think these pauses were for the digits: 1:15, 2:14, 3:22 (this one is also for guessing if I should just leave green misaligned), 3:45, 3:56.

My speedsolves are around 200-250 moves (guesstimate; never actually counted) and I only have 200 digits memorised so it's really unsafe to just go at full speed. I tried to squeeze as much out of every move as possible, but also without taking so long that I lose track of where I am in the digits. (Wasn't especially successful with that (look at that nonsense to solve the green centre + lol 12 moves to cross+1), but I got saved by a few lucky cases and not getting parity.)

I only know about half of what you know (120-ish digits) so I don't think I could ever solve a 5x5 while reciting Pi unless csTimer spits out a meme scramble with a 2-move reduction lmao
