Hello there!
Decided to make a thread about my journey on 2x2. Very ambitious to be good at it, but I'm lazy and lose morale easily when learning. So come on a journey of me posting progress thread! At the time of writing this I average sub-5 (Comp pb ao5 = 4.63s) (Home PR ao5 = 3.45s). At the time of writing this, I also haven't learned full cll lol -_-

Edit 5/3/24: This channel has been revived! I am now back again in the forums, and this time I am seriously making a "RTNR" thread. So here is an update: I went to several comps during my break, but still didn't beat my PR ao5. And the fact that I am from Poland means I have to deal with trying to beat legends like Teodor Zajder 😪 But I am determined! The first step of getting NR ao5 is a podium. Wish me luck! (I will update here every few days probably)

@bldcuber314 same! I only know the H and AS subsets as of now, but I’m bad at quickly recognizing each one
If you have trouble recognizing each one you might want to drill each of the algorithms a bit more to get recognition time down.

Make sure to focus on recalling the algorithm, not just remembering the algorithm.

That's also why I started by learning the CLLs where I can recognise just by looking at the orientation. I'll try drilling though, thanks for the suggestion!

how are you sub 4 with ortega? ill take tips i have a comp coming up and i avg high 5 with Ortega
Sure-
For first face I nearly always solve either a layer or an EG-2 face(diagonal swap face). This gives a much better PBL and occasional skips. My first layer isn't very efficient but I plan it all in inspection and I prioritise how well you can fingertrick.
My OLL recognition is pretty good, but that comes with practice. You could also try OLL prediction which I can't do yet but it reduces a pause.
For PBL, practice until you can predict AUF. Also when your top layer is a bar and bottom is a no bar, try clockwise AUF with my ring finger.(If this is hard to understand it doesn't save much time anyway).
Really I got sub 4 with practice. Hope this helps!
