Should big cubes have longer inspection

So in all WCA events except for blind events you get 15 seconds of inspection and I was wondering in 2x2 you cou do a lot in 15 seconds of inspection but in like 7x7 you could only really track the first 2 pieces so should 6x6 and 7x7 have longer inspection like 25-30 secs instead of 15

No, because at higher levels you can inspect up to 2 or 3 bars, and at that point you can track other pieces. It's something that takes training and practice.

I'd say no for time reasons. They already take longer per group to hold so I wouldn't be in favor of making them longer as they would likely be held less often.

I think 15 seems appropriate for all events. Lookahead is basically the same thing on big cubes as using inspection properly in shorter events. If you can have one, you can have the other with practice. Having different amounts of inspection would also mess up judging even more. I've seen myself and others forget at official WCA competitions that blind doesn't have inspection. Having another amount would cause a lot of extras to be needed.

at most 6x6 and 7x7 should have 20 seconds, nothing more tho to any other events.

I feel like if anything they would have less inspection time bc for majority of us slow ppl it’s hard to plan more than a bar

that brings up another problem: the new cutoff would be completely arbitrary.

15 seconds is also arbitrary per se but all modern records use it so it is the standard.
