I do have a few Mf8 Megaminxs and a clear indicator of the Mf8 megaminx's is that they have the Mf8 logo engraved on each center cap and the stickers cover the engraving.

You're absolutely right; I used to have one and remembering seeing those engravings. It also had really thick tiles! Very unattractive by today's standards, haha.
