Running cubers

Im going to start running can anyone give me some tips on pacing my self correctly
You didn't ask for specific training guides, so I'm going to assume you don't want them. If you do, a Google search for "couch to [distance] training plan" will yield plenty of results.

When it comes to pace, you should be running at a "conversational" pace. Put simply, you could be having a conversation while running. This does not apply when doing speedwork, but you shouldn't be doing speedwork at your current level.

When racing, you always want to run a "negative split", that is, the second half of the race is faster than the first. This doesn't always apply to non-race training, but it's something that's worthy to keep in mind.

Does anyone have any advice on getting a very fast kid to join XC/Track. He’s a year above me and would easily be the fastest runner my school(and maybe state) has seen. The appeal of Teammates, school records and freinds won’t make him budge. For reference he won’t join because he doesn’t like our coach(becuase his sister didn’t). Advice would be much appreciated.
He runs a sub 30 10k and a 14:32 5k(indoor) by the way.

Definitely don't try pressuring him into joining. If he's curious, then he'll check it out. Otherwise, let him do as he pleases.
This might not be the answer you wanted to hear, but it's one of the best things to do.

He’s very curious in doing but only at the D1 colleges he’s getting roster spots for :(
He’s also one of my freinds which is the main reason i want him to join.

14:32 indoor 5k? yeah find some blackmail and make that happen.

It might be sad to know he might not join, but the best thing to do is to just support him on his journey, call out his successes, and keep being a good friend. That goes a long way, and would be better than asking how to have him join the team. Maybe he does better solo right now than with a team.

10 miles on treadmill with no music, no entertainment just me running.
Had some hiccups so far on this training build toward track but hopefully it’s smooth sailing from here. Next week should be my first real 40+ mile week since August 2024. I got big goals set for track.

I agree with the run fast but I don't know if my stomach could handle the jelly beans.... (also I have never been to a gym so I just do wallsits and strange squat variations in my garden instead 👍)
Today I went down to the oval near my house where I do the majority of my runs, including athletics training, to partake in said athletics training.
I forgot to check the facebook page (which I can access for some reason even with the social media ban in Australia) where the organiser posts whether training is on or not, and I simply walked out the door with only my bottle (not even spikes or keys because I'm obviously super smart...).
The training was cancelled but I didn't know that so I just started running laps to warm up (for some reason I was running at 4:10/km and it felt like warm up for the first 2k), but I soon realised that nobody had showed up so yeah....

I just kept running and pulled off a 20:59 5km!!!!!! LET;S GOOOOOOOOOOOO

So far my best race this season has been a time trial yesterday in the 800(2:07.2). Saturday I am going to be trying to break 10:00 in the 3200 so which me luck. It’s going to be 9 pm and 40 degrees Fahrenheit so it’s gonna feel like an XC race. Just wanted to put this on here to give myself less excuses.

Yo I feel like 2:07 is a pretty fast 800 time, but I think with a 10 minutes 3.2k I'm wondering what your pb is for 800 and 1500?
Anyway, I got some nice times recently, a pb in 1500 (4:52) and in 800 (2:20) as well as 15:45 in my cross country race that was around 3.8 km but with some nasty hills!

I’ve only ran one 1600 this season as an opener unfortunately. I was supposed to race another Wednesday but it got moved do to weather unfortunately. Congrats on the PRs!

Update on my track season:
My season ended early due to a stress fracture on my left foot which took me completely out for over 3 weeks no running. My first day back was yesterday and I’m gonna be taking this build very slowly and just doing easy mileage for at least a month and a half before I get into cross workouts.
