Rubik's cube in media

A friend of mine told me today that she saw rubik's cube in the news yesterday. So I searched for it and found it but after watching it I once again was disappointed in the way they introduced the cube. They told that some cubers were getting together to compete but they didn't say where (I saw Charlie in there so I think it was in europe). And they said that the fastest cubers can solve the cube in bit more than 7 seconds as if that was something most of us could do. But I guess I can't blame them 'cause the thing was short and I understand that it must be hard to tell something like this in less than 30 seconds.
But what kinds of things have you seen in media about the cube?
