My favorites are the mazes and labryninths. Post yours!

My nephew is really going to like this. He likes to make pretty patterns. Sometimes he messes up and then his sister had to restore the cube for him. Eventually she grew tired of it and now he knows how to solve it himself.

The problem still remains for the 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 though. Neither of them know how to solve it yet. Every time I visit them I have to restore it for him.

lol, I can't even solve a 5x5x5. But of course, my mom won't buy me any other puzzle any more till I master the Rubik's cube. Talk about tough love, lol.

I would like to see some 5x5x5 patterns where you could put them next to another cube and it would make a big picture. i tried to do that with my 3 3x3s but I still can't find a good pattern to do this. Any ideas?

EDIT: If the patterns aren't working for you then it means you aren't doing the R- as R' or U- as U', etc.

I read this link http://www.randelshofer.ch/rubik/scriptman...randelshofereng (yours didn't seem to work) and apparantly M means mid-layer (slice move-only)

If you use this one for test
Maneuver Walter Randelshofer
D- L2 MD R2 D B2 L- MD- L F2 L- ? U D- ? B
MD- MR2 (16l,20f,26q)

It would be written like
D' L2 dD' R2 D B2 L' d'D L F2 L' U D' B d'D r2R2
or
D' L2 M R2 D B2 L' M' L F2 L' U D' B M' E2

and please don't call other people weirdo's. Somebody had to make up the first notation and if you check the link I gave, you can see he included that notation to support users of his script facility.

The notation most people use now is not very good. It isn't usable on bigger cubes (>5x5x5), different notations are used for slice moves and thick slices moves (MES, udfblr, uwdwfwbwlwrw, etc), small letters mean different things for 3x3x3 and big cubes, cube rotations are sometimes counter-intuitive. And I still think that the D' is not as clear to new users as D-.

lol, just joking man.

Some people write Ri, Li, etc as well. I think that is much clearer than anything else but when you are handwriting algs it is easier to write R'. Also I use E,M, S, for middle slice moves. E is the slice in the center of the cube(equatorial, like the earth) and S is side slice, which is equivalent to rotating your cube to the right or left and doing M. I know that different people have different notations, in fact I like the way he did his, it is just that the way I learned is from Macky's site so his is a bit confusing to me.
