Heyy there you sexy cubers ;)

Time and time again you hear of stories about young children who "Text too much" and therefore develop repetitive strain injury. The reason I use inverted comma's are because they consider 15 texts the optimum amount you should send each day and I know people, including me, who could send up to 10x that.

Anyway, back to my point. we also hear of people who work with computers a lot that develop repetitive strain injury because of the constant typing that they are carrying out.

So the question I ask is, are any speedcubers out there developing RSI? Could it affect our cubing in the future? Have you already suffered from RSI?

Yes, cubing can cause RSI.
If it isn't RSI, it could be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or arthritis.

Cubers need to take care of their hands.

Luckily, I only get carpal tunnel syndrome.

There's almost never anything physically wrong with people who suffer from RSI. It has much more to do with stress.

It's a little like the problems some pregnant women have with the pelvis. There's a very specific pelvic "injury" which ONLY women in Belgium and The Netherlands suffer from, and nowhere else on the entire planet. Aside from exeptions of course. It is purely a psychosomatic problem, induced by pre-natal stress and people telling scary stories about all the things that can go wrong during pregnancy.

So unless you're really stressed out, I don't think there's any danger.
