Hello, I'm an amateur cuber (though, since June, when I started, I have just reached a sub-30 avg), and I have developed a minor case of RSI. In case you don't know, it's similar to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I think I have gotten it from speedcubing, and I need to know:

What should my daily limit be?

What can I do to prevent this in the future?

(I'm gonna post this in both topics) Mine's been hurting for almost a week, though. It stared Friday, now it's Wednesday. It's been hurting less, and it pretty much only hurts if I do something with my hands.

then dont use your hands - seriously. cubing, typing, playing an instrument (dont play piano!), writing... these will all be hard. take very regular, reasonably long breaks. dont cube, it can wait. wait until your hands feel perfectly fine. avoiding things like this right now is the most important thing, as proper RSI is horrific (i have nearly gotten it badly due to too much guitar)...

A powerball is GREAT for relieving cube strains, I posted this in another thread. It's expensive but thoroughly worth it.

I would say drop cubing / repetitive hand activities until you lose the pain. I personally don't get it from cubing - I have spent so much time cubing and doing repetitive movements like typing and playing instruments that my hands seem to be immune.
