I hope this is the correct category in which post my question. What is an optimal average of moves for doing the first block in roux method?

That's where we usually discuss Roux questions. As for first block, when you are starting off, you should try for 13 or so moves, as you get better, you should be closer to 10 or less.

Are you sure? I've never heard God's number called "optimal average", but I could be wrong. If it's god's number for FB, I can't imagine it being more than 7 if you are totally CN, and maybe around 11 for fixed block, but I really have no clue.

Then I think what he's asking for is the average number of moves an optimal solver would take.

I'm fairly sure that it does mean they are only estimates:

- Color neutral numbers are only approximations.

It only has [x, y] for colour neutral numbers, so that means he thinks it is either x or y (in this case 8 or 9).
(unless I've misunderstood, obviously)

also for second block it's 12 iirc (sauce: PM'd Johannes91 like 5 years ago)

EDIT - FB should be 9. iirc.

Wow I have to improve myself in Roux first block because I usually do much more than 13 moves..
