Road to Sub 8

I have been cubing since the summer of 2016 (wow almost 4 years) and I average ~8.8. I am trying to get sub 8 with CFOP, COLL, a couple ZBLLs, and like 5 WVs. I will be doing average of 12s and will stop once I get 3 in a row that are sub 8. I find that I get sub 8 average of 5s too often to do that so I can't really do that.

I've been trying to focus on planning first pair consistently. I do it most of the time, but if the cross is difficult I can't/don't do it. I only do white unless yellow is super easy so that makes it a little more difficult.

I have done some CN solves but I don't want to go back to averaging 12 lol. I will do a solve on another color if I can see 2 pairs but even then the times are bad

I average sub 10 with white and yellow and it took me around 5000 solves to average 10.5 with all of the other colors, now I am just considering myself color neutral and solving with all of the colors, I assume that eventually I will average the same with all of them.

Interesting. I will have to look into it more then. I always thought that it would take more solves than that. How long did that take you?

I was solving like 200 a day so maybe around a month. but I had done several thousand solves a year ago cn so I wasn't starting with no experience for cn.

But I think that you being over a second faster than me would take maybe double the amount of solves it took me to become cn.

lucas etter executes all his plls (averaged) at best in 0.65
add recognition, pre-auf and auf and realize that exec isn't always perfect
this is NOT sub-1
even oll is hard to get sub-1 ALL the time

I think that all of my OLLs are sub 1 (I'm too lazy to time them but on the ones I have times they're usually like 0.7). I have gotten all of my PLLs sub 1 but its kind of hard to recognize them that fast

I got bored and decided to do another average for this. I am really happy with the average and apparently all I needed to do was put a bunch of Traxxas 30K into my cube to slow it down.

As of right now probably a Weilong GTS3M but I just got a Gan XS and a Gan X v2, both of which were way too fast for me until I put lube in them lol. I used the XS on that average and I think I might switch to it.

Dang starting it off with a 5. It's somewhere between PB3 and PB6. I don't know exactly how many solves I have that I have that are faster, but I know for sure I have at least 2 faster solves.
