So while I was browsing some podcasts I discovered LaZer0MonKey's Cubing Thoughts podcast. He only did four episodes but the techniques he talked about caught my attention. (Also can we just appreciate how much his audio has improved since then)
Down Solves
Generate a scramble, find a solution and do the same solution over again multiple times. I like to do three untimed solves and then time an Ao5 while trying to push my TPS.
Stops Practicing
Choose an alg (or use to practice a down solve) do two turns in the alg then pause, then do two more turns etc. until you complete the alg. You can also do three turns instead of two.
So this is how I've been incorporating these into my practice rouxtine (pun intended)
1. Stops practicing CMLLs that I recently learned, then drilling them.
2. 2-3 sets of down solves.
3. Normal timed solves either in one big session or as an Ao5 depending on what part of the solve I want to practice
Oh, and don't forget comp simulation from time to time.
So definitely listen to the podcast and tell me what you think about these techniques!
