Hi, I recently got a (not V-III,just regular) Shengshou 4x4 from icubemart, and I loosened it, so it popped. and you know how that is. I'm new to 4x4's, and I watched videos on how to assemble it, so instead of replacing what I popped, I disassembled the whole thing, and assembled it all over. So, I finished assembling it, and, I tightened it Fully. I know I didn't overtighten it. It just felt so stiff, I loosened it just a little bit, and I kept messing with the tensions. It kept popping on one side noticeably, the green. i quickly discovered something was wrong. So, you know how there are three internal pieces? The big thick one, that the edges hold onto. And, the little stocks that go over and under the edge holder pieces. Well, those pieces, on the green side didn't fit on snugly, like the other ones did, so I fully tightened the green side. What I found was that even though the screw can turn no more, That side was still very loose, and thus, it caused lots of popping. I'm wondering what's wrong. Please help me, as I'm very new to 4x4's.Is this a defect? or is there a solution? Oh, and by the way, I emailed Jeffrey Wang, the owner, and first he said I should disassemble it and try again. Then, after I let him know extra info, he told me I should post a thread on speedsolving. So, here it is. Thank you very much for helping me out! I very appreciate it!

um i dont know anything about this really,
but maybe you should disassemble the green side and fully look at all the pieces and the center of it.
unscrew the side and look at the screw and the spring and if something looks wrong then email jeffrey
or post here because it might just be a bit of plastic sticking out u can just sand down.
hope this helped.

Just a fact: The green side will not always be the green side. Because it's an even cube, the cube can still be solved although the core centers can wind up on different sides every time.

As for the problem, you might have a defective core or a screw that is too large. If you can't solve the problem try asking Jeffrey if he can send you a different core with new screws and springs. I'm not expert, but it could just have a molding defect.

Well, I tried evening disassembling the green side, and I found out that the screw had some excess material on it, and it was a weird material. I scratched it off with my fingers and I put the screw back in, and I think it's fine now. Thanks for all who helped. Oh, and now I have to assemble the whole thing again because I exploded the whole thing when I was unscrewing it...:)

If the fixed center is green the it will always be the same side..

As for the OP, would you post some pictures of the problem?
