Since the algo the algo to swap 2 edges and orient one of them is (Rr)2 B2 (Rr)' U2 (Rr)' U2 B2 (Rr)' B2 (Rr) B2 (Rr)' B2 (Rr2) B2 (from bigcubes.com), and it messes up the orientation. So that means it should be done before you do the OLL? So how can I recognize a perm-parity (along with the orientation parity that is more obvious) during OLL? Because right now I have to do...

orientation parity algo->OLL->Perm Parity algo->PLL

Thanks

(I've just recieved the eastsheen 2x2,4x4,5x5 yesterday and I've been hooked to it. My avg is around 2 minutes 40 seconds (due to a rather clumsy 3x3 final solve, where it's really hard to only move the outta face))

If you use a reduction method (centers, edges, 3x3x3) then the only use for a PLL and OLL parity fix would be if it was faster to perform than than another parity fix. Please correct me if I'm wrong. However, I have found an alg like this to be useful when I direct solve a 4x4 or 5x5.

ok I just understood it yesterday: Use the OLL+PLL parity fix algo during the OLL, since it is faster than the pure OLL fix. The chance of getting parity is still 50/50. Now my avg is sub 2 :D

Is it just me or the eastsheen 5x5 is just wayy too small?

Not just you, it's smaller than a Rubik's Revenge! :o

It's not too small, the rubik's one is too big :lol:
I love the Rubik's one, but you will need VERY VERY strong hands for them, I switched to Eastheen again... alltough I think they are really crap.
