Quick question PLL

When at the PLL stage of solving a cube, is it generally faster to match up the colours with the F2L and the last layer and then do the algorithm (Which would mean most of the time I need to do a cube rotation)? Or is it faster to do U turns to position the last layer the way I want it to be then execute the algorithm then match the colours at the end with U turns?

I hope I explained well enough...

Thanks in advance.

I do the first so it's AUF (adjust U face), PLL, drop & stop timer. I average about 25s.

I think that being able to execute PLLs at different angles and then an AUF would be fastest, though. Take Yu Nakajima's LL-solving, for example.
