some questions I wanted to ask (mostly for CFOP users) for one purpose, to observe

answer freely, but it'd be good if you wrote down around how many out of ten (x/10)

1. do you purposely put wrong edge pieces (such as red in the orange cross slot, orange in the red slot) when doing the cross, because a normal cross would take a long time (M2 U2 M2 is fast)?

PB average of 5 : 17.44, single 13.xx, normal average 19.xx. competition - not applicable. 6~7 months

haiyan memory, 3~4 months old, jigaloo

also, you should realize the if your numbers are high on questions 1~7, that's hurting your times.

8. I don't know off the top of my head, in my sig; ~23; never been to a comp ; first solve in August 2009, started speedsolving early 2010.

9. I keep switching between my AV (Jig-a-Loo, about 1-2 months) and my FII (original lube, 2-3 days).

If the colors are like that, then I'll try and get green/blue in the blue/green slots , so a simple D2 can fix it

I tend to rotate, or do U2 mainly, 7/10 though i try lookahead to avoid this

8/10 (other 2/10 is for Hperm, Yperm, and if no rotation is needed)

All in the sig, doing cubing forf about 5 months, though after 1 month of beignners, i started learning full fridrich. so at 3 1/2 months of cubing total, I knew full fridrich (THEN I STARTED DOING SOLVES :fp: )
So doing fridrich solves, I'm 1 1/2 months, almost sub20

9. what is your main speedcube? how old is your main speedcube? what lube did you use for your main speedcube?

Used to be haiyan memory, stupid girl at work broke that, so I bought a FII . I'd recommend the haiyan, if you can keep it lubed / dont abuse it

1. No, unless it's 1-2 moves away and it's easier for me to insert some F2L pairs THEN do M2 U2 M2.

2, 4, 5, and 7: Who doesn't?

3. When all the white corners are at the D layer I'll do a random R U' R'. Probably not a good thing to do though =/

8. Comp and general average: ~12

9. not this again...A-V/~3months/shock oil or maru

ok I definitely cannot be called the fastest speedcuber, but I'll go ahead and answer anyway.

i do this every once in awhile when my (not very good) 15 second inspection can't find a way to do the normal cross in under 10 moves, but usually I don't do this.

2. mess up a f2l slot?

I mentally kick myself every time, but once in awhile when im distracted and don't keep track of cube rotations that ive done, I do this.

3. do a random move just because you can't see an f2l pair?

No, because if i can't see a pair, its probably because my mind isnt very focused, and if i were to do a random move, I'd probably screw up a pair that I already solved.

4. mess up an oll case?

Almost never

5. mess up a pll (and the others, such as epll, coll, zbll (4chan), applicable to oll also) case?

I also know quite a bit of zbll ...but I'm not fast enough at recognizing COLL yet to use it in a speedsolve, but I almost never mess up a last layer algorithm no matter what method i use (i have the gift of near-perfect memory...this has helped me in school before when I was too disinterested to study ).

way too often with PLL

I rotate the U layer to get pieces to line up because I don't know a good PLL recognition system

PB is in my sig, normal average is ~ 48 seconds (my PB average is really no different from my normal average)..ive been cubing for a few months (just long enough to learn most of zbll )

main speedcube...rubik's brand that i bought at target which happens to be the only cube i've ever bought

For lube, i just went into home depot, asked where the WD-40 was, and then grabbed some random silicon-based lubricant from a nearby shelf

Hmm, 17.xx average, 13.xx Single, ~19 usually, just over 2 years.

F-II / Dayan / C4U Memory, 120 / 1 / 120 days (respectively), Jig-a-loo for all of them.

Rubik's Cube, ~1 year old, Silicone. Very smooth for a rubik's brand

Only V-perms. They have to be AUFed before execution for me because my V perm doesn't allow for an easy AUF at the end of the solve. 1/18

PB average of 5: 12.73, PB average of 12: 13.87, PB average of 50: 14.91, PB single: 10.15 L, 10.2y NL, General Average: 14-16, Cubing for around 3+ years. I'll have to find the dates on the first cubing relating things I printed off the internet...

I don't really have one... AII I guess. New. CRC.

1. 0/10. If I don't see an easy cross on the white side, I'll move to yellow.

2. 0.5/10. Quite rarely but it happens.

3. 2/10. Sometimes.

4. 6/10. Espiecially when the timer is running and right after I relearn a case.

5. 1/10. Again, it happens, but not often.

6. 0.01/10. Maybe >5 times over my entire cubing career, but it happens.

7. 2/10. I did, back when I was a noob.

8. Single was 18.57 with an A-perm, Ao5 is 23.72, but I rarely practice 2H anymore.

9. F-II. 3 days old. Not lubed yet, but hopefully I can spot some shock oil when shopping.
