So, I have been using a rubiks 4x4 up until now. I got an ES 4x4 and ES 5x5 and they are in my possession. Right out of the box they are smooth and feel great and dont seem to lock up.

I read and heard that ES cubes do loosen up and when they do, they can never be fixed. Questions are:

Do I need to lube or mod or sand or anything to make my cube better? ( Im pretty sure no, but making sure)

How many solves/use till the cube dies on me? (rough estimate, like is it 50 or 5000)

Should I work on purposefully cutting corners and odd turns to make it used to it or just let it happen over time?

Also any other advice is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

I usually do try to use the search forum first, this time I tried but couldnt find the detailed answers im looking for

Thanks, and its mainly the third question that i couldnt find exactly

Wow, i think this is the first time in my life that somebody mention my thread in ANY forum XD

man, it feels so good :P

I am satisfied with ES, though they are prone to wearing out.

I suggest lubing it, but wait till about 10-20 solves before you do it. It takes while to wear out, pending on the amount of solves. On my old ES, it lasted me about 6 months, with frequent use, before it turned to total ****.

Worth it, but it is not a lasting cube.
