I was wondering if it's possible to apply lubixcube on the dayan 4x4 and if yes, how?

Thanks guys!

This belongs in the "One answer question thread", just for future reference. As far as lubing your cube goes, I'm pretty sure that the Dayan is just like a regular 4x4. Try popping out a piece and apply the lube to the core. Don't hate me if I'm wrong :(

I dont know about lubix but I maru lubed the inside of the core without taking it apart, I just too the center peices off, then dripped lube in then worked it in. Then I maru lubed the outside of the ball.

I lubed my Dayan with lubix and I only did the cubies and not the core so far. I lubed the outers one day, inners the next and the core probably today or tomorrow. Lubing it all at once is too much lube in the puzzle and you'll get tired or slippery fingers and such so do it in stages. If you're not afraid to poke around the core of it then apply Lubix to the core. There's 6 screws and three of them are anchored one piece that doesn't really move but all the rest moves around it. Lube the crack where the pieces move around it. If you have the applicator tip use it since it's a really small spot but I can feel that most resistance on my inners is coming from the core.

Once your core is lubed tension it while you have it apart. Mine is pretty loose and I don't pop it too often. Maybe once ever 9-10 solves which I can deal with for now. I only adjusted the cube's core and not the black pieces that screw into the core. Give it a go and see if it greatly affects performance.

Once it's tensioned do the layers. As I said I did the inner layers and outer layers seperately but you could probably do it at once. Then work it in good. I used one dab of lubix on the outer layers and a smaller dab on the inner layers. I worked it in for probably 15-20 minutes and then did some solves. The effect that Lubix has is amazing.

Ignore 80% of my last post.

Before You Lube:
Break it in. It's really simple but not too fun. Solve it for about a week to wear away some of the rough edges. Or, if you don't want to solve a really rough cube then don't sticker it and just do some random turns while watching tv during commercial breaks or whatever. Just make sure you turn the cube a lot. Get a feel for what you want to do with the tensions. Tighten or loosen them. Easy choice but it greatly affects the performance of your cube.

Take the whole thing apart, clean it out thoroughly and adjust the tensions. Put it together and make sure they're good and then disassemble again.

To Lube the Core:

Take out one of the black plastic shield-ey outer core pieces. Don't unscrew it just take it out. It's gonna be a little hard but just apply a constant force until it comes. Apply Lubix and start working it in. Just spin the core. Then decide where it's still turning rough and do the same thing until your inner core is gliding. Then just pop the black pieces back in. Assemble your cube again.

If you start turning it and you don't like the tensions adjust them again.

Lubing the Cubies:

I suggest inner layers first. Do a u turn to 45 degrees and apply a small dab of Lubix. Slightly smaller than you'd apply to a 3x3. Work it in evenly for 5-10 minutes.

For the outer layers turn a layer to 45 degrees and pop a dedge. Apply a dab of Lubix slightly larger than you would to a 3x3 and work it in for 5-10 minutes.

After your Dayan is all lubed and turning like butter do some solves and have fun with your well lubricated cube :D
