I’m roughly 24 hours into this new mental adventure after really never having messed around with one before. I derived my warboard (pictured) from an amalgam of online videos, and I’m teaching myself basic CFOP for now, though the box-building techniques intrigue me for some reason. Probably because I love geometry, which is what drew me to puzzles like this, to begin with. By day I’m a software architect for a global consulting firm, by night my cross-f2l times are under five minutes already. Can consistently solve every time I pick up the cube, times aren’t great, but it’s a bit of a rush. Not bad, and quite addictive. I played Division I tennis, so I'm fairly competitive. Glad to be here.

Some tips is just to get comfortable with solving the puzzle. The best method for you to start is what is called the Beginner's method. It teaches you how to solve cases a lot more intuitively than CFOP. Here is a video I would recommend.
