faz said too much. A new time has arrived, F2LKEO, short FKEO is born

F2LKEO = F2L Keeping edges oriented

Can someone explain how you keep the edges oriented during F2L I don't quite understand

The way you insert the F2L pairs can influence the LL edges, for example try inserting a pair with just RU'R' then take it out again and put it in with the SledgeHammer (R' F R F') and notice how the two insertions leave different results on the yellow edges. Faz will know tons of different pairing/insertion methods to influence the edges.

An easy technique can be used for pairs with a misoriented edge (like all pairs with a d move). If you put a misoriented edge into the slot, then d move or y, y' regrip, the edge will be oriented correctly when you insert you pair with RU.

This is usefull for LL, but not only. F2L with oriented edge can be inserted with pure RU moves, which is very fast, and allow better anticipation of what is comming after.

EDIT: I'm working on starting with a 2x2x2 bloc and then finish the XCross while orienting some edges. It look very promising.

Are we talking ZBF2L here?

Whre can I learn more about the X cross?

I'm like hooked on that reaction test thing. I just averaged 170 milliseconds. My best single was 6 milliseconds (No lie). Yet if FAZ is averaging 300 than what makes him do fast? Possibly good looking ahead and knowing "If I insert this pair this way then I know based on the orientation and permutation of this corner and edge that it will end up here and I can then solve it like this..."

I must be thinking about this too hard. :fp

Arnaud already explained this phenomenon. Faz sacrifices his speed in everything else in life to be fast at speedcubing, so he's slow at everything else

hey i did 9ms.. too bad i didn't took a photo of it... (it was an accidental click)

back to topic,
i also believe that he has a quick mind and quick fingers..(obviously)
very quick thinking because he can spot and choose better f2l algos to use very quick
fast fingers because his LL algos are very fast too...
and i don't think its a secret.. :D
its just he can't share it...

I don't think typing has anything to do with it either, just practice, practice, practice.
I type at 140 WPM average, 160 on short sentences, 120 on long paragraphs/essays.
Average on 3x3: 22seconds with 3LOLL
