Petrus-like speedsolving

Hey everybody, I'm just wondering whether my time will stay the same or even slightly increase with this half-2 gen method. I don't care about fewest moves.
1. Start with cross or 3 adjacent cross pieces
2. do 2 f2l slots, you should have a 2x2X3 block no
w
3. I'm not sure about here, do an algorithm to make good edges? you'll know what I mean when you only scramble the cube using R and U faces, the f2l only needs R and U faces to complete
4. do the rest of the cube with R and U faces :D I'm not sure whether the PLL would work, as it isn't really 2 gen.

so yeah. I demo'd step 4 to my parents, and I thought it was pretty fast.

Try blockbuilding instead.
I suck at blockbuilding! ;-( that's why I do cross+f2l. Oh yeah and how fast can blockbuilding go? I don't think petrus was meant for speedsolving, or was it?

me using Petrus F2L:

someone who's actually competent using Petrus F2L + MGLS style last slot:

If you were wanting to learn both Fridrich and Petrus i would suggest learning Petrus first for a couple decent reasons.

it's hard to break yourself of building a cross and inserting slots - neither of these very well applicable in Petrus.
However Petrus style block building can be very useful in Fridrich.

I think that it is easier to be color neutral when using Petrus and that will somewhat transfer when you begin Fridrich, being at least opposite color neutral if not totally fully neutral.

one other thing that i found is that when moving from Petrus to Fridrich it is exceptionally easy to get an extended cross (cross + 1 F2L slot) nearly every solve.

that's just my 2 cents though. . . good luck!

Awesome! I just wanted to use a method where as much as possible using R and U faces. lol bad grammar, any other methods like that? Roux is full of M and U and M slice is bad for me...
edit: researched MGLS, somehow reminds me of ZBF2L but not really because of the pwnage oll skip!

I believe there was some talk of a method that gave you a 2-gen 2x3x3 & LL, a collection of 40+ algorithms.
