I need some advice..

I'm switching to full Fridrich from what I learned on which is a Roux derivative. For simplicity's sake I'm starting with the 2 look methods. on the PLL Im having trouble finger tricking the CW and CCW three edge cycle for some reason, so as a crutch I've been using.

M U' M' U' M U2 M' U' M U' M' U2 or M U M' U M U2 M' U M U M' U2 (doing this from memory without a cube in my hand so I'm sorry if this notation is wrong will edit later if neccessary)

Is this detrimental to my progress? should I just man up and learn the [R U'] [R U] [R U] [R U'] R' U' R2 and R2 U (R U R' U') (R' U') (R' U R')?

Yes, the alg you typed is wrong. :p But we all know what you mean.

You don't have to learn the RU 2gen algs, I think most people use those, but it's not uncommon at all to use the MU edge cycles.

Erik Akkersdijk uses the MU algs. ;)

'nuf said.

I switched to these recently:

M2 U M U2 M' U M2 performed as L (Lw' M') U Rw' R U2 M' U L (Lw' M'). Sub-1 consistently.

M2 U' M U2 M' U' M2 performed as R' (Rw M') U' R Rw' U2 M' U' L (Lw' M'). Sub-1.1 consistently.

Advantage: No regrips.

If I did U perms, I would use those algs. :)

EDIT: While I was using LBL, I did an alg wrong at found out those, all by myself. :)

I've seen those sexy U-perms
Could you make a video of it cos I wanna learn too..seems really fun even if I can't do it fast enough :)

I use the underlined algorithm for CW edge cycle and a complete horizontal mirror of it for a CCW edge cycle. I really like that algorithm, it kind of makes sense to me and I can perform it relatively fast.

I bet you some time do them to insert LU and RU edges in Roux without realizing it.

To be honest, I think I might once and a while, but it doesn't feel like it because im not focusing on those pieces.

I use R2 U' R' U' R U R U R U' R and R' U R' U' R' U' R' U R U R2

not sure if they were mentioned before, but you put your correct edge on the front when using them.
