Hi! My first post here. Just joined in fact, but I've been following these boards for a couple of months.
I started cubing in mid March, I think. Got a storebought cube and fiddled around with it. You know the drill, practicing the beginners method, then learned some new algorithms to make the corners go in place faster, and then finally starting to look at the F2L method.
My best time is as of now 1 min 8 sec, not good, but I am not complaining, I just started doing it and I am having fun. However, even with F2L I still had to do the beginners method of orienting the last layer and getting all the pieces in the correct place. I started looking at the 2-Look OLL and PLL today (not going to bother with the full algorithms just yet..), and find it not too hard to learn. However, I wanted to find some scrambling methods for only scrambling the top layer.
This is because I'd rather learn the OLLs and PLLs by doing them, not by reading on a paper over and over, however this proves to be tiresome as I have to scramble the whole cube and solve it again to get to the last layer, and hopefully get a new OLL/PLL I haven't learned yet. It might be good practice for my F2L, but I'd be really happy if anyone had any tips if this is doable. Maybe just mess around with some of the OLL algorithms to generate a random scrambled top layer?
The post turned out a bit longer than I expected, but oh well, I hope someone will have any useful info. Anything at all would be appreciated
