I know we had a discussion of mirror neutrality in the speedcubing section but has anyone tried it for OH? For me it is easier since it is the same hand performing the action and not having to switch to hand that is not used to performing the alg. I currently do my J's neutral across the front back mirror (as opposed to left right) and am trying to learn my U's like this too. I did a T perm mirror right to left side with a z rotation in front and it was surprisingly easy to do. This could save on time by eliminating a few U turns but seems to add time in recognition for me, which of course is just practice. Would you think this is useful to do?

lol thank you for the very deep responses Johannes...
Do you do all your PLL algs mirror neutral? obviously some lend themselves to being mirror neutral more easily than others. The A perm is one of the first algs I learned how to do, that one I can do ever which way from almost every angle needed.
Do you do U's with a completed side to the left or right? I can do them with that side on the front or back but not sides without using slices..

You're welcome.

I guess you could say that. The angle doesn't make a difference for me, it's still the same alg. I guess I see Rubik's Cube a bit more mathematically than most people here.

Left or right or front or back, but for OH I use only the RU/LU-alg (so just front or back).

I am like that with algs I have used for awhile but some i only learned recently are hard to move around.

same here.

I have used a cube solving applet to find 2-gens for the U's of orientation with the solved side on the left.
With the solved side on the left we have
Counter:
RU2RURUR2U'R'U'R2 (11,14)
R2U'R'U'R2URURU2R (11,14)
Clockwise:
R'U2R'U'R'U'R2URUR2 (11,14)
R2URUR2U'R'U'R'U2R' (11,14)
Same length as the other 2-gens
I think I may memorize them. IDK what two yet tho.
Edit:
I have decided on the second and first.
