OK, more informations.

iphone7 up to date, cube station up to date.

356i2 fully charged :
DNFs, disconnections from the application, I have to log in again
356i1 fully charged :
less DNFs, disconnections from the application, I have to log in again

Gocube, giiker and rubik's connected no problem. :-(

is there a way to upgrade the cube software ?

I’ve just gotten a Gan I3 and downloaded the app, so far I’m super happy. But the scrambles for cubestation in timer mode seem ridiculously easy. Does cubestation timer mode use random state scrambling?

Its GAN. So all looks and price. Their scrambles are confirmed to not be random state.
Use Cubeast with the cube. That website is way better than the GAN software.

I don’t have any Android devices, but would like to update my iCarry. Any way to do from PC or iPhone ? I have a few desync issues - but not that many.

Can someone tell me if there is a way to set a custom color scheme for the cube I'm using in the app, so that for example I can have the app show my cube as white-opposite-blue instead of white-opposite-yellow? I want to know this before buying one. I assume changing the physical cube is not hard, but I'm worried the app won't be able to reflect it.

Also, a cool mode would be infinite scrambling and measure TPS for random moves like that, as well as "scrambling accuracy". (I don't know if it already has that or not.)

You can't define custom color schemes because the software is only for the GAN Cubes they sell.
I don't think that they think about people who reassamble their cubes into a different color schemes

But you can use https://app.cubeast.com with any GAN cube. This one has customizable color schemes.


@lionking15, can you explain what you mean? If you don't press DNF, you can finish timing yourself. So just don't press DNF.

I think you could on previous versions of the app, but I'm not sure if that's still possible.

What I am trying to find out is, I am often getting a DNF, when all I would like to do is time myself...But Cube station is not letting me finish a lot of the time...It is normally as I am finishing...I am no speedster, and do it in about 5min, but It is getting very frustrating, So what I would like to know is there a setting that can disable DNF?
I have Gocube as well, and never seem to have this issue.

I was wondering if Gan had an open API to allow other developers to make apps that can interface with their cube. I assume that the existance of this means they did, or that someone reverse-engineered their protocol.

Are there other such apps? And any app allows for practicing scrambling (measure speed and accuracy), without having to solve in between?

I just created an account on Cubeast and set a custom scheme.
It doesn't seem like they have an Android version for phones tho.

It's a Web App, so it runs in the browser on every device. It requires a browser with bluetooth support, so in iOS it doesn't work with safari but it works perfectly on the bluefy browser.

The developers of Cubeast are also in this forum

Maybe you can convince them for some feature requests.

To record and show scrambling time shouldn't be a big thing as far as I can see.

Sorry just to clarify, I am not pressing DNF, it is doing it automatically, and I'm trying to find out how to stop that?

I think that's a similiar combination to DNF a solve. In the beginning I had this all the time but recently I didn't and I also couldn't reproduce it using such combinations. Maybe they fixed it.

I think in your case it's the timeout of 5 minutes. I didn't see that before. After 5 Minutes it stops.

I think they don't have a time limit. But I also think after a couple of solves you will easily stay under 5 minutes

Hi does anyone know how I can stop the DNF?
It keeps stopping me in the middle of my solve, at random times in the solve
I take about 5min to do a solve.
But 70% of the time I am getting a DNF.

Is anyone else having trouble downloading the 'new version'? Can't log in as it says 'new version available'. Cancel takes you out of the app, download takes you nowhere..! Maybe just a glitch, I'll try again later.
