Odd 2x2 hybrid method I stumbled on

Well, as the topic says, I found this just randomly now, and wanted to know from more experienced 2x2 solvers if it had any potential. I was messing around with learning the basics of Guimond, and I have previously studied Ortega, and I wondered what would happen if the last opposite color corner in Guimond was oriented. Turns out, you get a normal oll case for the corners. Basically, you make one face with two opposite colors (very easy, two moves usually) and then use Oretga orientation algs, then use the Guimond algs to correct the opposite colors, and the Ortega Permutation of both layers. I think this could be helpful for Oretga cases where making a single color face will take more moves than is really optimal.

I do this if I see a completed side and am feeling lazy. Its not very efficient though, because Ortega 2x2 OLL cases are way more moves than the Guimond orientation phase. The advantage of Ortega is that there's no separation phase. Adding separation just makes it slow. If you're colour neutral its probably better just to see if you can find a 3/4 face on some other colour.

I use this if both opposite sides already have the correct colors, but I guess that's just guimond with a skip. I normally use ortega.

It sucks. The transition between the orientation and next step (when you send i.e. all the yellows up) is to slow. Also the identification of the PBL is very slow. I have tried this myself, but it is very hard to predict which guimond case will be left after OLL

It can also be viewed as Ortega with a skip (if everything is already oriented, doing Ortega's first face and then getting OLL skip is exactily the same thing as getting Guimond orientation skip and then doing separation).
