Hello, GenTheThief (Gen) speaking here.

Started cubing in the summer of 2015 and had been solving one face for about a year. My friend showed me how to solve the second layer edges and then I watched a youtube tutorial on how to solve the last layer.

After that, I learned CFOP, full PLL, ≈20 OLLs and F2L. With that and four or five months, I got a sub-20, 15.67, PB and ≈19-24 average. However, after watching Phil's ZZ tutorials, I switched over to ZZ in something like February, just after my first competition in Dixon IL. If I had continued with CFOP, I think I would have had a solid sub-20 average.

With ZZ, I have got a new PB, 15.47, which isn't a whole lot faster, but I am still averaging 22-30 with ZZ.
I am still trying to get used to cutting down my inspection/EOLine-ing, block building my F2L and Look-Ahead. I am also learning COLL because I really hate G-perms.

I would like to get better at 2x2 (sub-10), 3x3 (sub-28), 4x4 (redux, sub-4:00), OH (sub-60) and pyraminx (learning key-hole but like sub-30) and would like to learn sq-1, 3x3 BLD and Z4.

Aside from cubing, I am interested in Frisbee (not enough people around for ultimate), reading and magic (don't have much time for it [not the card game, slight-of-hand magic]).

I use a mini wielong 3x3 but would like to try the Thunderclap, a moyu Lingpo 2x2, a sheng shough 4x4, a Moyu pyraminx, and a Quki sq-1.

I hope I enjoy my time here with all you other cubers.

-Gen
