New to Roux. Blockbuilding tips?

At the end of the second block on solve 2, instead of doing S' U' S, what should I do to get the edge piece in its correct position while not breaking up any of the 2 CE pairs I already had?

You should almost always try to build a 1x2x2 first. If you happen upon this "lucky" case, r2U'MUR2 is fast enough.

Sweet, I've gotten responses from Thom, Waffle, and even Mr. Roux himself! :D Thanks to you all!

As for cube rotations, I just realized I only did 2 at the same time in the first solve during the first block O.o Not counting inspection, of course.

At the end of the second block on solve 2, instead of doing S' U' S, what should I do to get the edge piece in its correct position while not breaking up any of the 2 CE pairs I already had? I just use S moves to keep the movecount a little bit lower xD

These all had white on D and yellow on U - I scramble with yellow U, orange F, and blue R. I can go the opposite way though and put yellow on D and white on U. :P

Instead of S moves in that case, I put the edge in the front-bottom or back-bottom, do R2, U or U' depending on which way the edge will match up with the corners when doing an M/M' or M2, do M/M' or M2 to connect the edge and both corners, then undo the setup moves. I learned this from M2 when doing BLD - probably not the best way to do it, but I like it more than doing a rotation then M' U2 M. Or just don't wait until that point to put the center edge in haha.

Why don't you scramble with green in front and white on top, per the official regulations? All of the example solves I did above were scrambled as such and then solved with white on D and black (yellow) on U, so you might gain more out of them if you scrambled from the standard orientation. Also, I still don't know full CMLL, so don't necessarily worry about learning it right away - though I would definitely suggest learning it earlier than I have started if you intend to stick with Roux.

I may have speedsolved them this way...

Some tips:
- Practice.
- Be lucky.
- Use the force.
- Practice.

Interesting... You actually rotate for 4c instead of adjust the M slice...?
