Hi all.
This past weekend I decided to get a cube and see if I could use videos to learn to solve it, I managed within the first 24hrs my first solve, very satisfying!
Now I'm hooked, I've been using a shop bought Rubik, but a Meilong 3M is coming tomorrow.
Im going to start on the basics of CFOP next.
I do balloon modelling professionally, so am hoping the dexterity of twisting balloons precisely will transfer somewhat to a cube.
I have no target times as yet, just looking to move on past my basic solve method and learn.
Thanks

Welcome, good choice for your first speedcube by the way :)
Thanks, I did a fair bit of research, I could have spent more, but advice seems to be get a reasonable budget cube until I get really hooked (and far better) before I move on to a more expensive one.
Plus I'm in the UK and cubes appear to be more expensive here than other countries (best deal I could get on the 3M is £10).

You can find it for £9 at KewbzUK but that‘s not much better anyway

Welcome, if you are starting out with CFOP I recommend watching J perm's videos because they are very well explained.

I did look at Kewbzuk, I should have mentioned the £10 was using my sis-in-laws amazon prime, so fast and free delivery.
Kewbzuk had added delivery costs.
Just looking forward to using something a bit more advanced than my official Rubik! The wait is annoying

I mean we at speedcubing.org sell them for £8 but they are currently out of stock but there is shipping to account for as well wherever you buy it
Thanks.
I'll have a look at your site, going forward ill definitely be buying from UK traders, I hate liming Bezo's already well-lined pockets, and would prefer to support other UK business, but I just needed one fast.

Thank you, we will try to ensure we can send cubes out quickly, ordering by 3PM and selecting first class shipping will generally allow cubes to arrive the next day but obviously we cant guarantee that.

Welcome have you looked at other methods?
Hi.
I have tried to take a bit of an overview approach and read lots of the "spirited" discussions between long-time members about different methods, I settled on cfop as it is one of the main methods which (as I understand it) can be mastered using practice and algorithms, I mentioned earlier that I'm a balloon modeller and making a balloon monkey is simply a set of steps involving blowing up balloons and twisting them methodically ensuring the right amount of air is in each twist/lock/turn, basically an algorithmic approach in latex, and I can make most of my creations without thinking at all now, just muscle memory.
A slight tangent there, but maybe explains my thinking?
