I was messing with my cube and I found a nice alg for headlights.

It's very similiar to a clockwise three corner cycle PLL.

The notation is as follows:-

l2 U R' D2 R U' R' D2 l'

If you can perform the 3 corner cycle fast then this will be a breeze.

The onyl problem is that to get yellow on top again you'd need a cube rotation x.

What do you think?

The one that you have found is actually one of the normal algorithms, except you flip the cube over with the l2 at the beginning. (Also, it should be an l' at the end, not an l).

I think it's cool that you found your own algorithm! I like the normal one though :p I can't seem to do this without putting my hand in an awkward angle.

It should indeed be an l'... and I have edited my original post.

Also, it is nice to find one instead of always stealing other peoples'!

I have made over a hundred algs. ):
I would much prefer to "steal" other peoples.

It would save me so much time and effort. >.<

The ones I make myself somehow stick much better in memory.

I have to agree with this. I feel that when I create an alg for whatever puzzle it happens to be, I understand it much better. Rather than memorizing movements and notation, I just know what I'm doing, and am better able to adapt and remember the alg.

You can try this..I found it in another similar thread:

R U R' U' (R U' R' U2)x2 R U R'

It's more moves but very fingertrick friendly. I perform it at around the same speed as the standard alg..but you can boast about higher tps though :p
