I did a quick search and I couldn't find this anywhere so:

I was just playing around with my 5x5 and I decided to try a new method:
1. Pair up edges
2. Solve outside edges and corners
3.Solve centers

I really doubt this would be useful for a speedsolving method, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless. What do you think?

That's exactly how I first solved the 5x5x5 - it was the first idea for solving it that occurred to me when I tried to figure it out. The one nice thing is that it's so easy to pair the edges when you don't have to worry about the pesky centers. I never got faster than about 10 minutes with it, but I was pretty terrible at 5x5x5 (and speedcubing in general) at the time. Then I learned the bigcubes method and almost instantly dropped to 5 minutes.
