Hi guys. I am a very avid big cube solver, with averages for 5/6/7 around 1:20/2:30/3:40. However, sometimes I slip up during a solve by just not being able to find any edges. I can look ahead 70% of the time, but every 4 solves there is an issue with my look ahead in the edges, in the centers, etc. I also have some trouble finding the most efficient way to build an edge. Could someone guide me through what I need to be doing to be able to look ahead in the big cubes better? For 3x3 reference, I average around 10/11 seconds, with sub-10 solves 25% of the time.
Also, what are some 3x3/big cube drills I should be using to practice tracking pieces, deductions, lookahead in general, and bookmarking?

Practice. Lookahead in big cubes and Hungarian Supernova can only be improved with practice and the chances of optimizing your solution during a solve probably aren't very high so make sure you experiment a lot just messing around with the cube if you aren't comfortable with your efficiency. If you use videos to learn new techniques make sure you actually use them. Just because you know what you're supposed to do doesn't mean you'll be a better cuber. You also need to know how to do it.

- Regards, a hypocrite who's trash at big cubes and Hungarian Supernova and doesn't know what method to use for 3x3.

Practice. It is the answer you probably don't want to hear but it takes time to easily track pieces. Also, I would say that you need to slow down just a bit to keep a good flow.

But that is my problem. I don't know what to practice. Practice normal solves? I already do that. Slower solves? I already do that. I need something different.

Bruh i practice 3x3 slightly for a few weeks and my lookahead improves. I recently became sub 11. I think you need to familiarise yourself with how pieces interact each time you solve a case and speed up ll recognition to allow for better and smoother transitions between phases

I also have noticed that TPS is an issue for me. Whenever I try to turn faster (3x3 and 2x2), I just fail the algorithm and slow down. I use the Tornado V3, so I know it isn't a cube issue, it's related to my skills. This happens in COLL, OLL, and PLL. Strangely enough, big cube algorithms aren't an issue for me. What are some things that I should be focusing on to ensure good tps when doing an algorithm or a solve in general?
