I can't seem to focus for an average of 12. I always get a few nice solves and a few very bad solves. I suspect this is a main reason that I'm not averaging sub-20 yet.
If I calm down and tell myself to focus, I can get about 22 seconds even on the worse cases. If it's average, then it's 19-21. If it's nice, it's 15-17. But after a few focused solves, I start to not look ahead or to make "typos." I start to get nasty 24 to 30 seconds. So my averages of 12 tend to hover from 21 to 26. And averages of 5 hover from 19 to 28.

Not bad, but it could be better. Average of 10: 21.10 seconds

Edit: now 21.01

The simulator can be much more different than the real cube.

Consistency, I guess, is another part of cubing that you have to train. Try to relax, that's what I tell myself all the time, but I still get nervous at competitions.

I don't think it's consistency. It's focus.
I can always get sub-23 solves if I try. I can usually get sub-20 solves If I tell my self to get sub-20 before I scramble the cube. But this sort of focus only last for a few solves.
Then, I get "tired." But it's not really tired.

So today, my solves are pretty much all 16, 19, 21-23, and screw up DNF's.

Funny that I almost never get 17 or 18 any more.
