I've been getting back into cubing recently, and I cannot stop myself from thinking about something else while I'm solving. It's not one specific, big thing; it's a bunch of little things. Like about the weather, if I hear a noise in my house, or just whatever I'm planning on doing later in the day. It throws off my whole solve a lot. I had a 50-second 4x4 solve because I did 323 edges 3 times by accident. I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD or anything like that, and it's not my attention span. Cubing is the only thing affected.
The only reason I'm really confused about this is that when I used to cube before, it helped with things like this. It took my mind off everything because I had to focus so hard. I still need to focus to get good times, but I genuinely can't make myself focus on anything longer than a 3x3 solve.
Anybody have any advice?
