[Unofficial] Mike Hughey OH BLD behind back while juggling 2 balls

what's next, mike? blindfold feet solving? while juggling? haha. it's tough to imagine what you do for an encore, this is just so incredible!

You're right - I feel kind of sad, because I know I'll probably never outdo this one. It's because, in a way, I've been practicing for years for this, but I just didn't know this was what I was practicing for. For years I've practiced juggling multitasking: juggling while stairstepping, juggling while reciting digits of pi, juggling while playing a pipe organ pedal solo - silly things like that. And also, I've always really enjoyed OH blindfold solving, so I've worked hard on that for over a year. So then when guys on here came up with this idea, I realized it should actually be easy for me to do it. So I tried it, and it was!

By the way, I've tried blindfold feet solving. (I'm sure you probably already guessed that, though. :)) It's VERY hard. I gave up on my first attempt when I lost track of the orientation of the cube on the very first step. I'll have to try it again someday, though.

Awesome. Really incredible.

Aside: regarding background noise again, I'm pretty sure I can hear something going "bu-ding"; what's that from? because I'm pretty sure it's from a game, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

It's my oldest daughter's Nintendo DS. From listening to it, I can't place what particular game she's playing though - sorry.

I am seriously impressed :) wow... just wow.
ok no sorry my mind rejects it.
Now I have to go back and figure out what video editing magic you used to make it look like you did it!

just kidding. very cool

This is cool! Macky is staying in my apartment until tomorrow when he leaves for Princeton. I'm going to make him try this.

Ugh. Macky - the one person in the world who could probably easily (easily meaning without any real practice) break my "unofficial world record" for this.

:) :) :)

But seriously, that's very cool - I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes! (I hope I get to meet Macky someday.)

The real question is can he OH BLD in about 4 minutes. The juggling shouldn't add much to this for a juggler of his caliber. I think it takes me about 6 minutes to do OH BLD but I've only tried once.

Your BLD solve OH seems very good!

I was about to add that - the one thing I don't know about Macky is how well he can do OH BLD. But he's a lot faster than me at regular OH. My advantage is I practice OH BLD fairly often.

My best time with OH BLD is a little over 3 minutes. The big slowdown for me with juggling is the memorization time - I think I was about 1:45 memorizing, which is MUCH slower than usual for me. The solving time for me is really about the same whether juggling or not.

Mike,

You are now famous! I sent this video to some of my friends and teachers and they are all very impressed! Most amazing achievement ever!

First of all, good job!

If I were doing it 2 hands behind my back, how similar would it be to in front of me? Is it harder to turn?

It's really very similar. It throws you a little at first because the angle "seems" different, but it doesn't take long to get used to it.

You should just try it and see for yourself!
