[Memo] Letter Quads discussion

A bit more progress on letter quads

you could be world class if you spent time in actual practicing instead of cataloging some silly letters yo
Why not do both (catalogue, drill, train and practice)?

Make letter quads which speed up memo, and train memo with LQs to get faster memo/cube in MBLD.

Actually practicing MBLD requires me to be at home and have 2 hours of free time for one attempt, which I do not have.

Make letter quads which speed up memo,
I doubt this is true. From what I have seen, most of your letter quad images are still just two words, meaning the memo load would not get any sort of significant reduction. If you want that, you should have every quad to be represented by one word and one word only. Correct me if my observation is wrong, though.

I mentioned this earlier as well. He responded saying each quad was one image, and that he eventually wants one solid image for each quad. To be honest, I don't think this is realistic as it is incredibly hard, if not impossible to think of one word or image for each quad. I'm not even sure it is feasible to cover most cases.

It is hard I agree,

But it is possible if we use multiple languages in our repertoire and a lot of acronyms to cover all the cases.

One LQ being 2 words defeats the purpose.

The aim is to have a simple image or a simple word for a letter quad. The only hurdle is the insane amount of cases, and finally since 2017, I have covered the entire ground.

A small text rant on why I am taking so much time in making LQs memo work and become way faster than my Letter Pair memo that I was using from 2013-2018

  • LQs are just too many objects, so it takes a lot of brainpower to organize stuff.
  • Familiarity with all the cases is not uniform and there is an extra decision to break an LQ into two LPs for hard cases where no mnemonic or phonetics or meaningful word is possible.
  • Ambiguity can quickly arise as we cannot form 150k distinct objects and there is always some similarities between mechanisms to recall/interpret two objects.
  • Extra pass required in MBLD to get the story going, or sometimes my first pass is slower to make sense/recall of the LQ first and then use it in a story.

Adding more to this:

I was always under the impression that if I prepare my LQ list well enough pouring in thousands of hours of work, the coherence will increase, the ambiguity will reduce and my mental effort to go through information lessen.

This has not been the case till now (2016-2025) as I have struggled big time to incorporate this system. My passes of memorization have been slower, retention has been lesser, so I need to do extra passes to get a hold over the memo. Using letter quads and then letter pairs as a backup if the letter quad is not coherent enough has been a brain sapping process. Option select between usage of LPs and LQs in memo has been increasing my anxiety, and ambiguity.

The simple solution to this I feel is just to grind exponentially more, and focus more on the memo in my solves, or just do tracing+memo (one pass or multiple passes) to work on the input information. I will post my learnings and pitfalls as I go along this direction of work.
