Hi y’all. What are some good splits for someone trying to become sub 2 on megaminx using Westlund? I’m currently in my Megaminx era and I want to be sub 2 before Choo Choo Cubing A. I currently average 2:10 - 2:15 if that helps.

For sub1, the typical split is 20:30:10 for F2L,S2L,LL respectively. Scaling this gives a (1/3)Hi y’all. What are some good splits for someone trying to become sub 2 on megaminx using Westlund? DO 50 SOLVES
???
That’s a terrible comparison.???
When I had 250 solves I has averaging 1:25....
It could be your cube or your blockbuilding.
I use a GAN but it’s pretty dry and I need to lube it.???

I’ve averaged roughly 14-15 on 3x3 throughout these solves.That’s a terrible comparison.
If a sub8 3x3 solver and a sub30 solver both start mega at the same time, they probably aren’t gonna avg the same after 50 solves lol
Yeah the 3x3 skill probably isn’t what’s holding you back then. I’d recommend watching LML’s solves and examples to see how the best in the world solves to learn a lot of tricksI use a GAN but it’s pretty dry and I need to lube it.

people blockbuild on mega??????

Yes???people blockbuild on mega???
I agree with this advice completely.I know you're asking for splits, and OreKehStrah already answered that, but…
Something I've noticed among megaminx beginners is that their solutions involve a lot of trial and error, so they're constantly pausing to think about what to do, or trying something and then backtracking, or spamming the same few algs without a clue as to what they're trying to reduce to. (I may or may not be talking about myself.)
You've got 200+ solves already, so maybe this doesn't apply to you, but in case it does:
1. According to the splits posted by OreKehStrah, you should be aiming for 1:40 F2L+S2L to hit 2:00 overall, but realistically, if you average 15 seconds with CFOP on 333, you should really be aiming for 1:20 or even lower here. Untimed solves help, as does looking at reconstructions/walkthroughs by fast people (as also suggested by OreKehStrah). Fixing an S2L colour order is highly recommended.
2. If your F2L+S2L are fine, that leaves last layer as your pain point. csTimer can generate last layer or LSLL scrambles, which are quite useful for practising solving the last layer. (I prefer practising with LSLL scrambles rather than LL-only scrambles, mainly because it gives me the option to do stuff like edge control, pair preservation, etc.) If you haven't already, start learning 4LLL.
Yes???
I even blockbuild part of the last layer but then I'm bad, so
lol i guess i just bad thenYes???
