It sounds a bit suspicious,
1. How did he know that he got a WR before taking the BLDfold off
2. The time was only visible when it was stopped
I think if you've done blindsolves thousands of times, he would know if the time was sub-WRIt sounds a bit suspicious,
1. How did he know that he got a WR before taking the BLDfold off
Possible fake :
Knows cube is solved + World Record before taking blindfold off (Counts in his head?)
Big reaction from onlookers, as competitors keep analyzing it.

2. He knocked over 3 secs off his own record. Is that not in itself reason to celebrate if you're 2nd in the world, even if not sub WR? Can you not tell a 3 sec difference in your 3x3 times?
Of yeah, awesome solve.
The faster the time/normal average the easier you can tell the difference, for example; if your 2x2 average is about 4 seconds, you shoud be able to tell a 3 second difference, but on a 7x7 it's impossible to tell a 3 second difference.
