Hey guys i used to speedcube a lot but got out of it ... i used to do it back when DIYs were really popular and i got a white DIY from cubefans o.O I recently got back and noticed all these new guhongs and zhanchis and what not. Im looking to get a really good speedcube and ive seen a lot of posts saying that a lot of people don't like lubix as it makes it really gummy? and they say the regular zhanchi just feels really nice and turns fast.

So i was wondering should i get a regular zhanchi from camcubers online shop or get a lubix ultimate zhanchi from lubixcubes.

Or if someone thinks that there is some other better cube such as the lubix fusion, and if you think some other cube is the best please say why :) thanks guys

Edit: Sorry i didnt see the other thread at the top for what cube should i get questions, as you can see this is my first post lol :( if this is still allowed then please answer here if it isnt ill post in that thread :P

Lubix lube works really well if it is applied correctly. If there is too much then it does get gummy.

I use a similar silicone lube when I assemble cubes for orders. I haven't heard any negative responses about the lube but maybe just the tension a little loose, but that's just preference :P.

well ill be ordering it from lubixcubes.com so it will be lubed by the dude himself so it wouldnt be too gummy right?

I have the Lubix LunHui and I LOVE IT! Out of the box it feels 'gummy' but it is really quick. After a few days of cubing all the lubix seemed to settle and it is amazing. They do an incredible job and I recommend them to everyone. I bought the Fusion and the ZhanChi and am currently waiting for them to arrive. I hope this helps.

Thanks for that! Still want some more opinions though because Ive heard a lot of negative stuff about lubix in zhanchis and guhongs and I remember camcuber said he likes his guhong broken in better than the one with lubix :)

Yeah, I saw that video before I purchased mine and was hesitant, but after getting one I completely disagree with him. I have a guhong without Lubix (I did do the 48 point edge mod though) and it isn't nearly as good as my Ultimate LunHui. I'll let you know what I think of the ZhanChi (should be getting it today). Keep looking though and remember that it's all about preference.

I am not sure if I am allowed to have an opinion, because I have never actually tried a cube from lubixcubes. I have tried lubix (also applied a small amount of it to my cube to test), and it's good... but very similar to many other silicone based lubricants. So personally, I think that anyone who knows how to use a screwdriver and a knife can get cubes of similar quality.

I don't really know anything about the ZhanChi, but Lubix is a great company. I have three Ultimates (one from the Lubix website, one from someone I know who works with Lubix, and the third I modded myself from a regular GuHong). I can tell you that Lubix does a great job, and my personally modded cube isn't as good as the other two.

OK thanks guys got some pretty good opinions :D Im gonna buy a lubix ultimate zhanchi and if i dont like it ill just buy a regular zhanchi as well :D

because thier very backed up now it will take a long time to ship. i ordered it on last sunday and still dont have it. i have found that the ultimate guhong is very, well, sluggish and gummy. personally i love lubix and am a proud owner of an elite but the ultimates can be meh sometimes

hmmm im on vacation right now but my dad is back in my hometown so im getting him to order it im gonna go back in 10 days so i was expecting to get back to my town and then it should arrive in a couple days so about 2 weeks im guessing is reasonable. And if i dont like it im gonna get a regular one from camcubers shop when i go to america and the site says its only a few days shipping to america so i think im fine :P

and also another question :P, if the lubix dries out which I heard takes a really long time, could I just spray it with CRC or Jig-A-Loo and would it turn fine? :D

I have both. Out of the box, the Lubix Zhanchi was terrible, and slow. As I have worked in the Lubix it has become better; however, I still think my regular Zhanchi is better. The factory lube that comes with the regular Zhanchi is really, really good lube.

You could. But that would be a waste of money because you are paying an extra $8 to order it from Lubix. If you end up not liking it just return it; they will refund your money and you can order a regular one.

Wait regular Zhanchis come pre-lubed? I thought they didnt. Is it because you cant take the cube apart with easy because of the anchors?

I got my ZhanChis last week and at least for me they are great out of the box. I used lubix on one, but I can barely feel the difference between this one and the others....maybe I was just lucky, I don't know. Anyway, the wait for ZhanChi was really worth and I think they are simply amazing as they are. I consider starting to mod the ZhanChi is more of a gimmick.

They lube it just so it's not terrible out of the box. Actually, most cubes nowadays do come with "factory lube". The lube that comes with the Zhanchis is actually very good. I didn't need to even add lube after I got mine, I just loosened it.

what about lubing regular zhanchis with like crc or jigaloo? does it make a difference?

It's not that much different but pure silicone lube like lubix will be more consistant and last 5x as long.

Oh btw I do a corner mod on Zhanchi's free of charge on my website. The mod will reduce the roughness between the anchors and the bottom of the corners. If you're still deciding. :)
