So I just got a bunch of puzzles (from my birthday :D), and I don't know any good methods. I can solve all of them, but only speedsolve a few. I'll just make a puzzle/method list.
2x2: Varasano (I don't own a 2x2 yet, so I'm using a 4x4 )
3x3: CFOP (3LLL, going to 2LLL eventually)
4x4: Yau
5x5: Basic Redux (need a method)
6x6: Basic Redux (need a method)
7x7: Basic Redux? (need a method and a 7x7)
Square-1: Vandenbergh
Skewb: Sarah's Intermediate
Megaminx: LBL (need a method)
Pyraminx: LBL (need a method)
Clock: Cross on both sides then corners (I don't know if it has a name or if there are better methods)

2x2 get a weipo when you buy one... learn CLL, full EG isn't necessary

3x3 CFOP is good but once your sub-13 or 14 start looking into ZZ cause theres some pretty sick variations

4x4 Yau is good

5x5 Hoya5 is what the fast guys use

6x6 redux

7x7 redux buy an Aofu GT

Square-1 I don't know anything about square-1

Skewb CLL again EG isn't Necessary

Mega I'm not sure if it has a name but most just do standard CFOP but the LL requires different algs

Pyra V-first, Oka, or WO it's good to know all of them really

clock IDK i dont do clock

Here's my reccomondations:

2x2, varasano

3x3: Roux (while most use CFOP, Roux helps you understand how the cube works much better because much of it is intuitive)

Big cubes: I don't do those yet, but I plan on using the cage method.

Mega: Going to find a method

Squan: Vandenbergh

Skewb: Skroub

Pyra: I'm learning a method from the 1980s for that, and don't know a name.

For mega I recomend standard f2l, balint method s2l, 4lll
Clock, do a cross on one side then the whole other side.
Sq1-vandenburg then learn things like cpp, p-cs, obl, pbl

For Pyraminx the best is to know a bunch of methods and choose depending on the scramble. In addition to what has been said already, I'd add keyhole, 1-flip and nutella, all of them top first. Not sure if V-first and L4E is the same. And of course LBL too.

I feel like it's best to pick either top-first or V-first and stick with only your choice. Top first has a million different methods, whereas V-first is pretty much just L4E (intuitive L4E is epic), and LBL if it's easier to make a layer than a V. Although often, I find myself choosing an easy V over an easy layer if they're the same amount of moves, since L4E cases are often better than LBL cases.

I agree DG (BTW is deva confirmed?)

I average about the same as you and I use several methods, afterall knowing multiple methods would make epic singles more likely. Wouldn't you think?

First wait and see what events you are interested in before learning methods.

2x2: Learn cll if you like it.

3x3: cfop is good, but look into roux and zz now before it gets too difficult to switch.

4x4: Yau is good

5x5/6x6/7x7: You can get really fast with reduction but I guess you could learn something else.

Square 1: vandenburgh is good

Skewb: Sarahs intermediate is good.

Megaminx: Regular lbl/cfop is good, but for last layer figure out a way to not learn all of the algs until you are faster because they are not all completely necessary until you get faster.

Pyraminx: Try to be method neutral, but faster people mostly use top first methods.

You guys seem to like Roux and ZZ, and I can see why, but I'd do better with something less intuitive, which is why my F2L is in need of some serious improvement.
Actually a good bit of people use Hoya5 and by redux I mean freeslice redux.
Is Hoya5 just Hoya on 5x5?

I see your point, but It just seems like a bit much to learn 5 methods instead of just getting fast with 1.

I would try to learn a few similar methods like 1-flip and Oka, generally top first or v first methods are pretty similar to each other so try to pick either v first of top first.
