I recently got a square 1 and it is an awesome puzzle. I looked at a YouTube video and learned the most basic method.

The Lars Vandenbergh method seems to be the fastest and most popular.
  1. Where can I find some good resources for learning that method?
  2. How many algorithms does it include?
  3. Based on the Fridrich 3x3 method, how long will this take me to fully learn it? More time, or less than CFOP.

1. Brandon Lin's tutorial
2. 5 for beginners, 173 when you get really really fast (though a lot of those are intuitive/really easy/inverses/mirrors)
3. I learned everything except parity in about 3 or 4 days, took me another 3 days to learn parity (yes it's that bad -.-)

Where do you stand now on learning the other algorithms?
