[Help Thread] Kilominx Discussion and Help

The scrambler/solver isn't optimal is it? Reason I ask, is because there should be some lower bound that is filtered out by the scrambler (like there is with other puzzles). It would't work right without it being optimal would it?

So I was just wondering, If (or in sometime in our future, WHEN) Kilominx becomes an event, would it be fine to remove the center caps of a Kilominx? The SS Kilo has (black) center caps that do not affect normal solving, and are quite annoying to take off. If we take those caps off, it will truly be a 2x2 Megaminx, in the sense that a 2x2 has exposed screws. Would a Kilo without the center caps on be legal? If so, how can I write this as a regulation?

I don't know if it's necessary to add such a regulation. Here's a relevant question: Is a 6x6 with a missing inner edge piece illegal? Not "Would I be barred from using such a 6x6?", but "Is it technically illegal?"

I just got my Kilo today, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to make a side instead of the first layer and then turn it into a layer with an alg from there since sometimes I'll see like 3 pieces connected but not the right order. This may be really bad though, idk. Also what should be the average move count for the first layer?
