It's optimal with the given moveset, but not necessarily optimalThe scrambler/solver isn't optimal is it? Reason I ask, is because there should be some lower bound that is filtered out by the scrambler (like there is with other puzzles). It would't work right without it being optimal would it?
so what is 1LLL like for this if there are only 3PLL and 16 OLL?
hmm. Anyone know how to generate algs on a mac?3 + 12*16 = 195 not including solved
if you inserted the last slot corner twisted in a fixed direction the number of TCLL algs would be the same
I don't know if it's necessary to add such a regulation. Here's a relevant question: Is a 6x6 with a missing inner edge piece illegal? Not "Would I be barred from using such a 6x6?", but "Is it technically illegal?"So I was just wondering, If (or in sometime in our future, WHEN) Kilominx becomes an event, would it be fine to remove the center caps of a Kilominx? The SS Kilo has (black) center caps that do not affect normal solving, and are quite annoying to take off. If we take those caps off, it will truly be a 2x2 Megaminx, in the sense that a 2x2 has exposed screws. Would a Kilo without the center caps on be legal? If so, how can I write this as a regulation?

The Regs said:3h) ...Modified versions of puzzles are permitted only if the modification does not make any additional information available to the competitor (e.g. orientation or identity of pieces), compared to an unmodified version of the same puzzle.
...
- 3h3) Any modifications to a puzzle that result in poor performance by a competitor are not grounds for additional attempts.
It won't matter because the caps don't affect solved state at all. It's like choosing to pin-mod one centre on a V-Cube 6.So for purposes of Kilominx, I think regulation 3h applies (as long as you remove all of the caps).
Couldn't you theoretically tell which side is the white side by removing that cap and then feeling the screw? It won't matter because the caps don't affect solved state at all. It's like choosing to pin-mod one centre on a V-Cube 6.
No because, like 6x6, the sides change after every solve.Couldn't you theoretically tell which side is the white side by removing that cap and then feeling the screw?
No they don't, at least not on most 2x2s. I don't know exactly how the Kilominx works when it comes to a misalignment mechanism, but on 2x2, the screw on the white side remains the screw on the white side after every solve. No because, like 2x2, the sides change after every solve.
Oops, sorry, I meant 6x6No they don't, at least not on most 2x2s. I don't know exactly how the Kilominx works when it comes to a misalignment mechanism, but on 2x2, the screw on the white side remains the screw on the white side after every solve.
Nevermind, I don't have a kilominx yet so I don't know exactly how it worksOops, sorry, I meant 6x6Kilominx sides do change though.
You never cease to amaze.Nevermind, I don't have a kilominx yet so I don't know exactly how it works![]()
I was just extrapolating from what I know about 2x2. I just thought that Kilominx might be similar. After thinking about it, I see why this doesn't work. You never cease to amaze.
