[WR] Kabyanil Talukdar 3BLD 27.63 mean

Ya I agree with pretty much everyone here, most of us seem to think that it should be a WR and something that is not even the solvers fault should not influence the solves.

[Devil's advocate]
Say that again when a scrambler intentionally puts a 1 move scramble for 3x3 into a tub to be solved, and the guy gets 0.2 or whatever :p
[/Devil's advocate]

I don't think it matters whose fault it is. I think it matters if he gained an advantage. In this case he could only have a advantage if it was a set up and he could see past his blindfold and I don't think anyone is suggesting that happened.

okay once i saw the angel lim 29.77 thing i think they have to let this record stand. Thats ridiculous.

redicilous, his previous official timer were very slow compared to those in Asians, how could it be possible???Extremely redicilous for him to improve so much. How dare it???!!!
Anyway, getting lucky is not a crime.Congratz to this dark horse. You shocked me,now i remember you

Is it possible that if someone reconstructs the solve and it is found not a speedsolving method but a blindfold method, this will prove that there was no possible advantage and the solve is considered legit.

You mean to say that his 30.xy solve in first round and the final solves are luck??
Also, the last comp he attended was Indian Nationals which was in late july. It has been more than 3 months since. He has improved a lot.

He had several official 30's before including the previous Indian NR of 32.70 set quite a few months back. At home, he has been averaging consistently around WR level, so I think this is a good indication of his actual times..

to oversee his previous official times including some 1min+ even 2min+,i just can't believe that he's improved so much and so fast. His times are not stable, sometimes slow, sometimes shot up.

I just oversaw his official times so that i drew the conclusion that "He seemd to get luck at Asians".If i had known what his times at home were,I would've not thought he got luck.:)

Since, Angel Lim 's solve stood, this should be called a wr too. But This loophole can be filled in the 2015 regulations, but this shall be called a WR. The resolve was only for the "just in case" case.
Also it is pointless if Angel' s solve is DNFd now, again not his mistake.
I've a question. If I average around a minute, get an easy memo, and somehow get a 35 or 40 sec solve and the judge forgets to hold the sheet, would that mean I cheated?

Its just a shame that the previous WR holder calls such an attempt ridiculuos and classifies it as "getting lucky".
Sidenote: looking at current WR record holders WCA profile it is quite evident that you have had a faster progress than Kabyanil has from Guangdong Open 2013( 39.24) to Guangzhou Small Cubes 2014 (29.60) that too single that too in two month time.
However it maybe it just feels bad that such comments exist even after consistent results from the side of Kabyanil again again.

B4c1) In all cases, the competitor must wear the blindfold such that his view of the puzzle would still be clearly blocked if the opaque object were not in the way.
Just an opinion. I think it should have been the WR, the cube was located in the position he couldn't see, following to the rule.

I was just shocked by his progress,i wasn't doubting his level,im just shocked and feel surprised,ok?
Indeed, previously i didn't know what his level was while he pracitised at home,i just took a look at his official times, everyone will feel "impossible" when he has a look at his wca times.
Naturally,i have the reason to think "rediculous" since i've never known his real unofficial level

What if these kind of incidents occurred on a non-advanced competitor, would it still gain much concern on this forum?
I mean, we might neglect the regulations while dealing with these incidents on those who aren't solving that fast.
So what's the actual principles we should follow when there hasn't had explicit regulations about these incidents?

This is completely a WR, and if it's not fixed then its a travesty. I really hope he gets his record and that this is addressed as soon as possible.

Dudee, You got it wrong. I'm the guy who created this thread who averages 1 min. And the record guy is different from me xD I'm just his friend

I really think that it should be given a WR. The paper thing as far as I know was made so that there is no 'cheating' or any kind of 'advantage' during solves while if we look at this particular case there are barely any chances for any kind of advantage. Though I agree that rules are rules but if the WR is at cost im pretty sure the WCA will decide the best.
