Glad your gonna learn clock! I am somewhat decent at clock (9.5-6 global), so here are some tips.
1. Get the Qiyi obvoiusly
2. Use Z3Cubing's Tutorial and NOT J Perms
3. Once you are comfortable with solving it, try and spam solves, risking DNFs. I went from 24 global to 17-18 global in 3 days if that says anything.
4. Have Fun!
 
I haven't had time to learn any ZBLLs for a while now, and I won't have any next week because I'm going to Bulgaria for the IOL (international olympiad of linguistics). I'll try to find some time today or tomorrow to revise the ZBLLs I learnt already, but I won't learn any new ones until after I get back from Bulgaria.

Was 18 moves into a ZBLL, but I missed that and did a 21 moves into a (better) ZBLL that I misrecognised and ended up with an 11. Could have been PB probably.

Glad I have a sub 5 already so I don't have to care too much lol

By the way, about the linguistics olympiad, I didn't win any medals or anything. I got 38.5 out of 100 points, which was 4 points short of an honorable mention. There were 5 problems in the individual contest, and for each problem you could get 20 points. If you are interested in what the problems were you can check them on the website of the International Olympiad of Linguistics, I definitely recommend you give them a try, it's fun! (Except problem 4 and 5, they were torturous lol). For problem 3 I got 16.5 points, which if I got that on each problem would be sufficient for a golden medal, and on problem 5 I got 0 points lol. (12.5 points on problem 1, 6 on problem 2 and 2.5 on problem 4)

Very sad that I can't participate next year, when the international olympiad will be held in Brazil (@Filipe Teixeira ;)), because university students are ineligible...
 
Remember the pure sub 8 ao5 I posted about a few days ago? That was just the beginning. I just had the craziest solving of my life. 7.86 ao12. What. Lol. 7 consecutive sub 8 solves, then an 8, then a 6. The 8 had a huge lockup on the G perm. Would have been easy sub 8 as well, if I didn't almost drop the cube and have to recover. That would have been 9 consecutive sub 8 solves. I'm approaching sub 8 faster than ever, and my cube hasn't been cleaned or lubed for over a month lol. Btw my PB ao5 is still 7.45 or 7.53 i think, not quite sure, it might be faster, but definitely not slower than 7.53, but either way that is a crazy ao5/ao12 pb ratio.
New goal unlocked: I want my next official ao5 to be sub my current PR single (8.31)

The 6.18 is one of my best solves yet. It had 55 moves, which is not at all extremely lucky, yet I managed to get such a good time on it. Might post reconstruction later. The 6.83 had a U ZBLL. I was lucky to have gotten that exact ZBLL a few solves prior, which made recognition a lot easier this time around.


Edit: idk what's with me getting all these 6 second solves suddenly but I've had so many today already and I doub't I've done a hundred solves today. Got very close to beating the average again. Ignore the 11.00

BTW, I finished the Pi set. Next up, probably not tomorrow though bc I'll be busy, I'll relearn the 2GLL L cases, which will mean I then know all 2GLLs. (Edit: oops, just realized idk the 2GLL AS cases yet)

(Actually I realized PLLs are also ZBLLs so technically the ratio is better, 129/493. If I end up not learning the S/AS cases (still haven't decided) except for S 2GLL which I already learnt, that means the ratio is even better, 129/361. I think I'll learn S/AS though so i'll be using the 129/493 type ratio from this point onwards (meaning I'm over a quarter of the way through, yay))
 
So I got a 5.69 on the 3rd scramble from the weekly comp. Very nice!
BUT...
I can't reconstruct it...
Usually if I get a really good time like that I immediately do the scramble again, but now I first did solve 4 and 5 before doing the scramble again. So either that caused me to forget my solution, or I misscrambled... I really hope I didn't misscramble. On white cross I can find some cross solutions that create F2L cases that feel familiar-ish, but I can't find a solution that leads to OLL skip, U', Y perm, no AUF, which I'm pretty sure was what i got. If anyone (who has already done the scramble, ofc) can find a solution that leads to this LL case, that would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I'm pretty sure I did white cross, but it might have been yellow.

As for the average, I messed that up quite a bit. Scrambles were really nice. Could have been an easy ~7.5 average, but I got 8.27. Sub 8 next week.
 
2GLL L learnt. Might learn 2 or even more sets tomorrow.

I realized I didn't know the H 2GLLs yet lol, so I learnt them just now cuz why not. There are only 8 of them because of symmetry and the algs are all extremely simple, but this was so annoying to learn because half of them are not symmetrical as ZBLL, only as OLL, meaning you need to learn two ways to recognize the same case, both with a different pre AUF. I had already learnt these cases once though, so that helped.

Finally cleaned my cube after idk how long. It's way faster now, which I'm not really used to, so my average is a bit worse than it was before cleaning. However, I already got a pb ao5 of 7.41 with it, and a tied pb ao12 of 7.86.

On the 6.93 I got an H 2GLL, but I didn't dare to try to recognize, because for some of these cases it still takes me a while to distinguish and I knew the solve would be fast even with normal OLL and PLL. Did the normal OLL, and got a Z Perm out of it... turned out that the case WAS the normal OLL alg, but from the wrong angle. For the average, it doesn't matter a lot, but a sub 6 would have been nice lol.

Edit: forgot to mention, I got a counting solve PB of 6.30 a few solves before this.
 
I just got these six times in this order: 7.94, 7.03, 9.85, 6.71, 9.23, 6.26
Had the last two solves happened in reverse order (first 6.26, then 9.23), I would have had a 7.23 ao5. I think I can get a sub 7 average by 2024 at this rate, if only I just stopped getting nines lol.

Edit: guess the two times I got after this... first 11.23, then 6.92. Yeah...

As for ZBLL, I'm now halfway through the T cases.
