Yeah I mean your alg isn't bad, and depending on AUF/cancellations/grip it's better in some cases, but in general I definitely think the other one is faster, since it's 2-gen and from homegrip to homegrip. But if you don't like it that's fine of course.

Have you tried doing my orientations on the first two scrambles- I feel like they're faster but there may be a fingertrick I'm missing. The 1st one with my solution you can do it very fast with a regrip(regripping and doing the last 3 moves as one move) or with no regrips if you start with your thumb at the back. The 2nd one I can't seem to avoid a regrip with your solution...

Yes I've tried yours, for the first one I can't seem to sub-.6 your solution, which I can pretty consistently do with mine (fastest even being 0.46 after a couple more downsolves). As for the second one, I can't find a way to do the solution from this angle with a regrip lol.

So 1 and 2 were the same moves but a different orientation and 4 was the same solution entirely. Your solution on 5 is definitely better than mine lol idk why I didn't do that (Also a tip, use R U' R2 U R2 U R2 U' R and its inverse and mirrors for that CLL on your third solve as your main algs)

And inspired by you I tried downsolving them as well and got 0.55, 0.64, 1.26, 0.81, 1.10 (with your solution on the last one), so 0.85 average. Pretty ridiculous. @NigelTheCuber (a.k.a. 'the guy with whom I was tied for 2x2 average with a time of 2.42, which I will never forget, but who now is 3rd in the world, somehow') what can you do on these scrams?

I got a 20.07 3BLD PR/NR2 single and 4.30 clock PR/NR8 (NR7 is 3.70, NR9 is 5.49 lol) single last saturday.

The 20.07 was terrible for the scramble, but I didn't practice and the rankings don't care about scrambles anyway so I won't complain. Olivier (who was in a different group, so with different scrambles) almost got like a low 15 but he failed the timer stop so it became a 16.24, which is still fast but kinda sad. He'll get ER soon enough though lol

As for clock, that 4.30 was the only solve that went ok. I DNFed the 3rd solve by a tick, and on the 4th solve I couldn't remember whether a letter was C or D which made me forget the whole memo so I decided to re-memo, but then at the 12 sec warning I still had a letter left to do. I decided to do flip last second, which I am apparently trash at bc I got a 10. Since the average was ruined I went all out on the last one but it was also a DNF, not sure why. Can't be mad, I'll get to save my PR streak longer ig

I almost finished relearning corner floating thanks to the NAC betting. I'll do edges as well, and I remembered that I quit floating because I didn't know how to adequately deal with parity without learning full floating parity, which I still don't, so if someone knows how to deal with it please do tell. I think I'll try to go for 2nd place at nats again this year.

And maybe I should practice MBLD and BigBLD again, idk.

Ok I'm back from a 2-week vacation
Quick little update maybe because I have comp next week. I'll compete in 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, 3BLD, FMC, OH, pyra, skewb, sq1, MBLD. For 3x3 I want a PR average, and based on my pre-vacation practice sub 7.5 would be reasonably expectable if I just solve normally, but I only have one round so I'll be okay with messing up. With 3BLD I've been averaging close to if not sub-20 on my non-legal-because-of-logo-cube so I'm not sure what to expect on the gan in comp but at least one PR would be appreciated. Obviously my MBLD goal is NR. This time I won't do 36 cubes, but 33, and my practice will be the 2 attempts I have left from @Discomantis's comp. My only other real goal is pyra PR avg, because rn it is I believe 4.94 but I did like 2000 solves a few months ago and sub 4 was easy. I'll probably do a hundred or so warm up solves for that.

Oh also I've been keeping track of my daily 3x3 bests on days I actually did some 3x3 (credit to @gruuby for the idea iirc) and this was the result

I got the MBLD NR back with 30/33 1:00.00, which was basically the minimum result I needed for NR. The DNFs were the last, 2nd to last and 5th to last cube in execution. Two of them were off by 3 pieces, and for the other one I simply couldn't remember half the cube. I let the time run out to see if I might still recall it, but that didn't happen, which made Carter Kucala still nemesize me lol. I'm decently happy with this result, but there is a lot of improvement yet to be made.

Of course I failed 3BLD sub 20 again because of stupid reasons, but the NRs there have been made untouchable enough for me to not really care anymore. I went to the comp mainly to get MBLD NR, and that worked out.

I just tried 41 cubes MBLD for the first time and got 41/41! The total time was 1:25:05.20 [51:05.46]
I obviously knew in advance that I wouldn't get sub hour so I decided to go a bit safer than usual, but not too much. Then there was one cube near the end for which I couldn't remember corners, so I took my sweet time going through every possible letter pair in my head until I encountered one that made me remember the corners on that cube. Worth the effort, apparently! My phone was accidentally filming in selfie mode though lol

And 41/41 again! Kind of...
There was a cube with 2 center caps falling out during the solve, and I put just one back in with a 50/50 shot of satisfying regulation 5b5, which I unfortunately failed to guess correctly. But I'm not the WCA, so I count it as 41/41.
I did this attempt with a completely new set of rooms, which was far harder than I initially expected. I messed it up a couple of times, both during memo and exec, and apparently miraculously corrected it succesfully each time. I expected to be at least a few minutes faster than last time, but the time was 1:25:44.40 now. I think I'll might be around 10-15 minutes faster with being used to the rooms and not doing my attempts late at night, but we'll see maybe saturday or else next week.

I was correct! The attempt took 1:13:50 now, with 46 minutes memo. I got 38/41, with two cubes being near the end where I just couldn't recall part of the memo, and one cube which was off by 3 corners. I tried to recall those two cubes for a while, but after a bit I decided that I would just go for the faster attempt with two more DNFs rather than wasting a bunch of time with those two cubes. Quite happy with this attempt! Sub 1:10 with decent accuracy will be the next goal.

Also earlier I was doing some random 3BLD without keeping track of my times and I started with a low 17, then a mid 15, then a 17.75, while my PB mean is 18.28. I think the times were 17.24, 15.69, 17.75 which would be a 16.89 mean but I can't be sure obviously.
