My tip: be creative with the blockbuilding steps early on, it will help a ton later.( I don't know how much roux you have learned)

Sounds good! Blocks are something you will benefit from playing around with. I recommend getting the very basics down first, though.

Roux is better imo. But feel free to choose whichever method you want.
I think you should learn roux first, but you are free to try waterman.

yeah, waterman is too complicated and I cant seem to find algs for waterman anyway.
