Is EOline able to be sub 1'd ?

It depends on how many moves you take.

Whether or not you can do it during inspection, that's a matter of recognizing which edges aren't oriented

ZZ is the kind of method that's heavily reliant on pre-inspection, so you'll likely need a fair amount of it unless you're very familiar with the method and orienting edges, etc.

I think it's 'sub-1-able,' but mostly depending on the case (I say it's definitely at least able to be sub-2'd).

I think it is possible.
I've been using ZZ OH for a while, and a few days ago I decided to switch to it also for my normal 3x3 solves. When I do OH, I do EO and then cross, because moves for EO are slow, so I can look for cross pieces while doing it. So I never really did EOLine until today, when I decided to train it a bit: my mean of 25 solves was sub3 (2.78, if I remember correctly), and I did a lot of sub2 (as well as many sup4).
I average around 15 with fridrich, around 16 (but with an awful standard deviation) with ZZ (around 20-25 OH), so I'm not that fast; conclusion: EOLine can be done sub1, if it's not too difficult.

Hmm. Maybe if you are color neutral do the side with most oriented edges on U/D.

And always focus x cross on the left to make the solve more <RU>.

I have no other ideas for zz though.

Maybe to see how fast he should aim to do it?

Correct me if I am wrong but hasn't Jorghi always been a strong advocate against EO-line?

On topic:
a great way to reduce your movecount is applying color neutral EO-line: less moves obviously means afaster EO-line...

EDIT: didn't see Jorghi already suggested CN.
You should not look only for mosst misoriented edges on a particular face.
Choose your cube orientation as such that you have the least amount of misoriented edges or an neasy case

I was color neutral with fridrich, but I sadly had to switch to fixed White-Yellow / Red-Orange orientation. Color neutral ZZ seems just too difficult to me, but if you do it and you can give some tips, it would be very appreciated :)

Sure, just practice it heavily for a long time. Good luck on not pausing before continuing the rest of the solve though.
This is why I love cfop...

Edit:I can do partial eo for f2l edges during cross.....!

To see if the current way of using it in zz is useful enough for allowing me to have a nice smooth multislotting f2l session of 42 algorithms.

I just don't even....

The amount of time spent on EO, if you're not going to be doing more efficient blockbuilding style F2L completely negates the time that you save on not doing cube rotations.

I think you're trying a bit too hard. Just relax, and practice.

I had a long thing explaining how I go about remembering bad edges and how I fix them, then I backspaced and it disappeared so fk it.

I generally take anywhere from 2 seconds to 10 seconds OH (because who uses ZZ 2H >.>)

Wow.. I have been missing out! ZZ block building is like f2l but you can do it with the cross edges!

ZZ is cool.
