Hello,

Yesterday, i bought a rubik's 4x4 and i learned how to solve it. So far my fastest was 5min 34sec. Can you guys give me some tips or something on how i can improve my time.

I put in 1 edge pair at a time.

I practice as much as i can..

The reason why i bought a rubik's 4x4 was because i didn't really want to learn to solve a 4x4 but since it was at the store i thought i would just buy it and try it out.(i will probably buy a better 4x4 in the future, also im definitely buy an edison 4x4 when i go to korea.)

Try solving two edge pairs at once. It's not really as hard as it sounds, there's plenty of tutorials on youtube that can help you out. I learned on an advanced edge pairing tutorial by RobH, but I know there's better ones out there. I'm probably not the person to point you to a specific one because I'm not exactly sure who has them and which is the best. Just try searching "4x4 advanced edge pairing" on youtube to see what you get

just keep practicing two edge pairing and, when he you feel like it's time, it might make sense to buy a better cube. you can find a lot of information on this site about good 4x4's by searching when you're ready to do so. good luck!

As far as I know, there are:

reduction (FTW)
cage
sandwich (cage variation)
and other cage variations

I believe some (very few) use a LBL technique, and I have also solved it using a "solve centers last with niklas commutator" kind of thing, it was fun, but not fast.
